Maverick parents and community businesses... now is the time to help us out by filling the lounge for our Masters Elementary staff. We welcome all donations, such as candy, chips, crackers, cookies, granola bars, sodas, sparkling waters, flat water, water mix-ins... I mean, if you can eat or drink it, we can turn it into a teacher snack. Please help show our staff how much we appreciate them for these long beginning of the year days. Donations always accepted; however the Stock the Lounge event lasts until August 27. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

No one’s cooler than a tiny Maverick in shades! 😎 Parents, I am happy to tell you that we shaved 16 minutes off our dismissal procedure today! Remember that dismissal is at 2:50pm. Please arrive on time for pickup, especially in the front line, as the kids and staff are outside and it’s 🥵. It will be much quicker if parents are already lined up and ready for pickup. Reminder: Parents should NOT park in either parking lot. Students listed as walkers should be walking home. Students listed as car riders should be picked up via the appropriate car line. If we can all demonstrate patience, integrity, and respect toward procedures as well as all cars, students, parents, and staff, our process will get better and better and everyone will get home safely every day! Enjoy the pictures of some great moments we have captured from our first 2 days! 💙

Maverick Parents, What a great Day One we had! It was wonderful to see so many kiddos walking onto campus with such big smiles and excitement. We had a great day touring the halls, going over procedures, and learning about each other. We did run into a couple of snags during afternoon dismissal. Please note the following information and refer back to the map and instructions posted yesterday too. 1. Parents may still walk their kiddos to class Thursday and Friday of this week only. Parents must have ID and must check in through our Verkada system. 2. Parents, please don’t park and walk up to the school to pick up your student(s) at dismissal. Students are either walkers or car riders and all car riders must be picked up through the appropriate car line. 3. All cars enter through the from driveway connected to Libra Path (farthest from Woodlake Parkway). All 2nd-5th student pick up only enter and follow left lane (with no younger siblings). All PreK-1st students and older siblings of those students will be picked up in the back. Enter at the front and stay in right lane. 4. NO CARS SHOULD ENTER THE BACK GATE DURING DISMISSAL AT ANY TIME. *EXIT ONLY* 5. Finally, parent pickups… please do not drive out of the line once you have your students. Cars will be moved in an orderly manner to be sure safety is our first priority. Super excited about the awesome Day Two ahead! Let’s go, Mavericks! 💙

Maverick Parents - We are so excited to see all of our Little Mavericks tomorrow morning! Please know that student drop off does still occur in both the front of the school and in the back of the school. The tardy bell rings at 7:30 a.m. Please be mindful that we will likely have many walkers this year. Following safety expectations while driving or walking is of utmost importance. I would like to start by saying that we acknowledge that processes will take longer the first days of school. This is unavoidable when we are setting procedures and then making adjustments based on staffing, number of students, traffic issues, etc. We know that everyone wants to pick their children and head home. Please know that the car in front of you and the car behind you have the same objective as you. I ask that all parents come ready with patience, understanding, and flexibility so that we can get everyone home as soon as possible, but more importantly, safely. Please see the map of how dismissal will look. (yes, I handmade it 😬 I know 🤣) Here's how it works for car riders: Car riders in 2nd-5th grade will be picked up in the front of the school (unless the 2nd-5th grader(s) has a sibling in Prek-1st grade). All cars for dismissal will enter the parking lot at the drive directly across from Libra Path (the drive furthest from Woodlake Parkway). Cars coming to the front of the school for pickup should be in the LEFT LANE. Please be sure to have your yellow placard with your student(s) names and teacher names written large and neat for easy reading. Teachers will load cars 4-6 at a time and then release those cars to exit. The exit for front car riders will be the drive in the front closest to Woodlake Parkway. Car riders in PreK-1st AND any older siblings of these car riders will be picked up in the back of the school. The entrance for the back car line is still in the front. Back car line will also enter the parking lot at the drive directly across from Libra Path (the drive furthest from Woodlake Parkway). Cars coming to the back of the school for pickup should be in the RIGHT LANE. Please be sure to have your yellow placard with your student(s) names and teacher names written large and neat for easy reading. Teachers will load cars 6 at a time and then release those cars to exit. The exit for back car riders will be the back drive exiting onto Woodlake Parkway. Please note: NO LEFT-HAND TURNS FROM THE BACK PARKING LOT ONTO WOODLAKE PARKWAY. For those who were here last year, this process is the same as we had at the end of the year. We appreciate everyone's patience during this first week, as we know that processes are always slow at the beginning of the school year. It will get faster every day and it will be a piece of cake by the end of next week. WALKERS: If your student(s) is a walker, they will exit with our staff and be brought to the corner of Sierra Sunset and Woodlake Parkway. At the corner, staff will safely cross students in both directions. Parents should not call their students to cross the road to them outside the crosswalks. Please allow our staff to ensure everyone's safety. Students who are walkers MUST go with the walker group and be crossed by campus staff. Parents may not walk up to the front of the school to pick up their child. In addition, parents should not park in the front parking lot to walk up and pick up their student. Anyone picking up their student(s) by car will be asked to join the car line. We do not know yet how many walkers vs. car riders we have, so please allow us to observe and gather this information and then we will reassess procedures, if needed. Our staff will be out tomorrow afternoon to help guide everyone where they need to be. I would love to see us getting through these first days of dismissal with nothing but smiles. Please look over the map included, read through this information, and feel free to post questions so we can clarify for all. I am truly excited to start this new year with your students and to be able to partner with all of you to make this Masters Elementary’s best year yet. Respectfully, Ms. V - Masters Principal

Please give a warm welcome to our new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Woodruff! We are lucky to have her in Maverickland 💙 Hello Maverick families! I am honored to have been named your new Assistant Principal for the 2026-27 school year. I became a part of JISD and the Masters family 5 years ago serving as the Librarian, and more recently as the Academic Trainer. I am originally from Michigan (Go Blue), but have been blessed to live and teach all over the country as a military spouse. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and four sons, being outdoors, and reading. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working with our great staff and students, and to build relationships with our families. Together we can help Masters’ students achieve success. Let’s have a great year! Mrs. Jennifer Woodruff - Masters Assistant Principal

Masters Mavericks, There have been many questions as of late regarding who will lead our Maverick team this year and I am humbled and delighted to tell you that I have been named Masters Elementary Principal for the year 2026-2027. A little history of me… I have lived within the Judson community for 23 years and I have worked in Judson ISD for 20 of those years. My daughter attended Salinas Elementary, Kitty Hawk Middle School, and then Judson High School. She graduated in May 2020 and now she is out leaving her mark on the world. My work here began at Salinas Elementary where I served the community as a teacher of 5th grade for most of those years. Three years ago I moved to Masters Elementary to serve in the role of Assistant Principal and I have never looked back. I am a Maverick now, and I am proud to be here. I feel so lucky every morning when I get to set foot on this campus and interact with my amazing staff and all the smiling student faces. We will see challenges, triumphs, hard days, and amazing accomplishments and we will get through it all as a family. We may not agree on everything everyday, but what family does? What will matter the most is that decisions are made with the safety and success of all our students in mind. Once again, I’m excited to get this year started and see all the ways our students will shine. I look forward to meeting you all and continuing to serve this community. Sincerely, Kristi Ann Villanueva “Ms. V” Masters Elementary Principal #masterselementary #mavericksmatter #JudsonISD
